THE SOUTH BAY’S LARGEST DIA DE LOS MUERTOS FESTIVAL
CESAR CHAVEZ PARK, OCT. 18 & 19
Día De Los Muertos, also called Day of The Dead, is a celebration of life. Día San José is a culmination of family, entertainment and most of all fun! Throughout the day, we sing, dance, laugh and celebrate our loved ones.
Día San José is a much needed San José celebration that promotes our resilient cultural pride. Our goal is to produce a downtown destination festival that center stages our traditions, while creating new ones that are relevant today. Our Day of the Dead inspired festival combines music, culture, tradition, food and art into a mezcla that tastes as good if not better than your abuelas capirotada. We look forward to hanging with you on October 18th & 19th, 2019 as we rock the dead, rattle your bones and shake the soul. Experience our signature Calavera Camp for kids hosted by KQED. Walk through our Artist colony filled with over thirty five contemporary and traditional artists who have masterfully captured the spirit of Día De Los Muertos. You don’t want to miss the signature altars that our low and slow amigos at Blvd Bombs create every year from the back of their trunks, you thought their cars were a work of art, wait until you see the altars they create. On our main stage enjoy music that we are sure will put you into the muerto mood, cheer on your favorite Lucha Libre match, or watch in awe of local Chicano youth artists paint murals live at the festival, all while having home cooked authentic Comida Mexicana, no food trucks here, we are old school con safos. Relax in our signature beer garden with a cold chela, brought to you by our favorite import Modelo.
